Introduction

Salt Lick Safari Lodge is one of Kenya’s most iconic lodges, renowned for its stilted architecture and panoramic views over waterholes that attract a steady stream of wildlife. Location

Set in the heart of Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, adjacent to Tsavo West National Park, Salt Lick Safari Lodge offers guests an exclusive wildlife experience in a private conservancy setting. The lodge is easily accessible by road—approximately 400 kilometers from Nairobi (about a 6-hour drive) and 200 kilometers from Mombasa (around 4 hours). For rail travelers, the lodge is a 40-minute road transfer from Voi Station on the Nairobi–Mombasa Standard Gauge Railway (SGR). Charter flights can also land at the nearby Taita Airstrip, followed by a brief drive to the lodge.

Policies (Child Policy & Cancellation Policy)

Child Policy

Age Restriction: Children under 5 are not allowed at Salt Lick Safari Lodge.
Child Pricing: Children aged 5-11 can stay, with a 50% discount for sharing a room with adults, or a 75% discount for a separate room.
Room Sharing: If children are younger than 12, they should share rooms with parents or adults (subject to availability).
Triples Rooms: Triple rooms (with 2 adults and 1 child) are available subject to availability.
Separate rooms: Children aged 5-11 can stay in separate rooms (minimum 2, maximum 3) at a 75% rate.
Safety: The age restriction is primarily for safety reasons, particularly in relation to the wildlife viewing areas.

Cancellation Policy

120+ Days Before Departure: A 25% cancellation charge applies.
89-60 Days Before Departure: A 20% cancellation charge applies.
59-30 Days Before Departure: A 50% refund, with a 50% cancellation charge.
Less Than 30 Days Before Departure: No refund, 100% cancellation charge.
