Introduction

Governors Camp is a world-renowned luxury tented safari camp located in the heart of Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve, right on the banks of the Mara River. It was the first permanent tented camp in the reserve and set the standard for classic safari elegance. Originally reserved for colonial governors , the camp now offers guests a front-row seat to some of Africa's most spectacular wildlife viewing , including the annual migration.

Location

Governors’ camp is located in the Masai Mara National Reserve, southwestern Kenya , right along the winding Mara River. Nestled in a lush riverine forest, the camp sits in one of the most wildlife-rich areas of the reserve, a prime spot for viewing the Big Five and Great Migration.

6-hourThe camp is approximately 320km from Nairobi, 6 hours drive and 45 minutes by air from Nairobi Wilson Airport. Musiara Airstrip is 15 minutes away from the camp.

Number of Rooms / Tents / Cottages

Governors camp has 37 tents comprising 24 twin tents,12 double tents ,1 suite.

The tents include; Governors camp, Governors’il Moran Camp and Little Governors Camp.

All tents are en - suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water, and flushing toilets.

Some of the tents line in the riverbanks, tucked into the forest they have uninterrupted views over the mara river and the sweeping plains of the Masai Mara

Policies (Child Policy & Cancellation Policy)

Child Policy

Infants under the age of 3 years are accommodated free of charge
Child accommodation is available for children under the age of 16 years old. Children under the age of 8 years are not permitted at Governors’ll Moran
The applicable charge for two adults and one child is the per person sharing adult charge for two pax plus the child rate per night. If the child is sharing with one adult then the applicable charge is one adult charge based on the per person sharing rate for one pax plus the child rate per night.

Cancellation Policy

Fully independent travellers:
Over 90 days before safari date; the deposit will be held in credit for use against a future booking.
Between 90 & 60 days before safari date, 20% of the total cost will be forfeited. Any balance will be held incredit for use against a future booking.
Between 60 & 31 days before safari date, 50% of the total cost will be forfeited. Any balance will be held incredit for use against a future booking.
Between 30 days before safari date and a ‘No Show’ 100% of the total cost will be forfeited.
Group Travellers:
More than 120 days before safari date; the 50% deposit is non-refundable. In some circumstances a part of the deposit will be held as credit towards future bookings as agreed on a case-by-case basis
Between 120 & 90 days before safari date, 50% of the total cost will be forfeited.
Between 90 days before safari date and a ‘No Show’ 100% of the total cost will be forfeited.
